Emir of Kano reinstates DanAgundi as kingmaker
The Emir of Kano Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has Turbaned Alhaji Amminu Babba DanAgundi as Sarkin Dawaki Maituta and a kingmaker after he was sacked by his father, late Ado Bayero.
Aminu Babba DanAgundi was sacked by the late Emir for alleged disrespect and insubordination to the Emirate Council some ten years ago, something that resulted in a long time legal battle.
However, Kano State Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje was among hundreds of dignitaries and well wishers who graced the turbanning ceremony of Alh. Sunusi Ado Bayero as Wambai of Kano and Alh. Aminu Babba Dan Agundi as King maker and Sarkin Dawaki Babba on Friday at Kano Emir’s Palace.
The Governor, who was represented by his Deputy Dr.Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna was accompanied to the occasion by the State Chairman Of the APC Alh. Abdullahi Abbas, Chief Of Staff to the Governor Alh.Ali Makoda,Commissioners and other senior government officials.
The Emir of Kano Alh.Aminu Ado Bayero, in his speech shortly after the turbanning, explained that while both the newly turbanned officials are members of the Kano Emirate Council respectively, Alh.Aminu Babba Dan Agundi is also posted to Nassarawa Local Government as District Head.
The Emir also charged them to discharge their duties effectively with the fear of Allah and should use their wealth of experience towards the development of Kano State and the Emirate.
Other notable dignitaries that attended the occasion, which included the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Mr. Godswill Akpabio, former Governors of Sokoto and Borno States Alh. Attahiru Bafarawa and Sen. Ali Modu Sharif, members of the national assembly and representatives of other traditional institutions.
