Gunmen suspected to be the dreaded Boko Haram insurgents in an assault on Geidam city in Yobe State on Wednesday kidnapped the district head.
In response to experiences, the assault occurred at about 6:30 p.m.on Wednesday night.
The insurgents reportedly stormed the city capturing sporadically inflicting many residents to panic and flee into the bush whereas others hid of their homes.
Confirming the incident, Yobe State Police Command spokesman ASP Dungus Abdulkarim stated the terrorists kidnapped the district head of Geidam.
He additionally revealed that the police recovered a burnt Hilux automobile containing two our bodies.
He added that it couldn’t be ascertained whether or not the deceased have been Boko Haram members or not.
Reacting to the event, Governor Mai Mala Buni directed the Yobe State Emergency Administration Company (SEMA) to maneuver to Geidam and help the victims.
